Jacopo Amigoni was an 18th century Italian painter known for his paintings of religious and mythological figures. He is best-known for his early work in Venice, and his works are housed today all over prominent locations in England and Italy. He gained much acclaim outside of Italy during his lifetime for his Rococo style.

In 1747, Amigoni left Italy for Madrid, Spain to be the court painter for Ferdinand VI. He later also became the director of the Royal Academy of Saint Fernando, and died in Madrid.
