Johann Baptiste Hoechle was an 18th century Swiss portrait painter. He studied at the Academy in Augsburg and was the father of painter Johann Nepomuk Hoechle. During his career, Hoechle served as court painter in Munich and Vienna . While he was best known for his portraits, Hoechle also painted historical and allegorical scenes.
