Pierre-Henri de Valenciennes was an 18th century French landscape painter. He was known for his stunning classical landscapes featuring interesting figures in the foreground, as well as historical and genre scenes. Valenciennes died in Paris and is buried at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery.
