Johann Georg Meyer von Bremen was a German painter born in Bremen. He studied at the Düsseldorf Academy under K.F. Sohn and F.W. Schadow. After an early career specializing in religious subjects, he traveled in rural Bavaria and Switzerland gathering material for his genre paintings, later becoming what might be called a painter of charming young girls.
